ONDA

What Is ONDA?

ONDA is a microwave device made by DEKA in Italy. It uses 2.45 GHz microwave energy to deliver heat to the layers beneath the skin, with cooling applied to the skin surface. At Dr. E-Laser Dermatology in Cheongdam, ONDA is used for two purposes: lifting and contouring the lower face, and contouring body areas.

We list them as two treatments, ONDA for the face and ONDA Body, because the energy level and handpiece differ by area. Treatments are performed by licensed physicians, including a board-certified dermatologist. Consultations are available in English.

Two adjustable handpieces allow customized lifting treatments

Which handpiece is used, and where, is decided after your skin and fat layer are assessed.

ONDA for the Face

Lower face: cheeks, jawline and double chin

On the face, ONDA is used where loss of firmness and a small amount of fat overlap: a jawline that has lost definition, sagging lower cheeks, or fullness under the chin.

What it is not designed for

ONDA works on the fat layer and dermis. It is not a treatment for fine surface lines, pigmentation or skin tone. If those are your main concern, a different device or a combined plan is usually discussed.

ONDA Body Contouring

Body areas

ONDA Body uses higher energy levels than the facial treatment and is used on areas where fat sits beneath the skin.

Contour and firmness in the same area

Because the deeper handpiece targets fat and the shallower one targets the dermis, a body session can work on both layers in the same area.

Your ONDA Visit, Step by Step

1. Assessment

We look at skin thickness, fat layer volume, elasticity and the pattern of sagging, then decide whether ONDA fits and which areas to treat.

2. Energy level and handpiece

The energy level is chosen by area. Facial and body treatments use separate settings.

3. Treatment

You may feel heat in the treated area while the skin surface is cooled.

4. Aftercare

Most people return to normal routines the same day. The lifting aftercare further down this page applies.

Post-Treatment Precautions for Lifting Treatment

At Dr. E-Laser Dermatology,
we provide attentive aftercare to support your recovery after lifting treatment.

Avoid washing, makeup, sauna,
or steam rooms on the day of treatment.
Refrain from alcohol and smoking for at least 3 days.
Use moisturizer and sunscreen consistently.
Avoid facial massage and high-heat treatments for 1 week.
Mild swelling, redness, or minor bruising may occur
and typically resolve within 2–3 days.
